Video: LeBron James gives fans a glimpse of the latest Nike LeBron 18 shoe

LeBron James is just hours away from participating in his first scrimmage in the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida.

In an apparent celebration of that fact, he gave his fans a sneak peek at the new Nike LeBron 18 sneakers.

It’s hard to get a very clear look at the sneakers in James’ video, but it looks like they incorporate the Flyknit technology featured in James’ previous signature shoe design.

Thanks to SoleCollector.commore detailed details about the LeBron 18s have been revealed.

“With only a few hours back since James debuted his next signature sneaker, Nike has officially unveiled the LeBron 18,” the site reported. “According to the Swoosh, the upper of the LeBron 18 features a new knit blend that’s pulled from some of James’ past favorites ranging from 15-17 along with Max Air pockets in the tongue replacing the traditional foam. The tooling offers also a new cushioning setup to support his unique on-court attributes, with an Air Max unit in the heel paired with a full-length Zoom Air bag in the forefoot. The LeBron 18 will release starting in September.

The site also featured a design mockup of Nike’s shoe.

While James’ early shoes were known to be quite clunky, later models have become much sleeker. The 18s seem to reflect this trend.

With everyone in sports focused on the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World Resort, it’s hard to think of a better way for James to show off his latest shoe.

Surely, his goal will be to win the fourth NBA championship of his career wearing the new model.
