Never say the Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell wilson don’t know how to leave an impression. As the football season approaches, Wilson and Nike are having fun unveiling their new shoe and doing it in style in front of as large a sporting audience as possible during the month of July. On Wednesday, the superstar quarterback proudly announced the release date of his new shoe, the DangeRuss 1.

Via his social media accounts, Wilson revealed that his new shoes will drop on Thursday, July 19. Coincidentally, training camp will be exactly one week away from the release date. Maybe Wilson is looking to get his new shoe to dominate the fan section of the Virginia Mason Athletic Center; he will likely be able to achieve this goal without a problem, especially among the younger section of the Seahawks fans.

In addition to the release date, the star caller and Nike have another plan to increase the fanfare around the release. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, The DangeRuss 1s will make their ESPY debut on Wednesday, which certainly seems to indicate that Wilson and possibly his wife Ciara will be in attendance. Rovell also said the shoe would be priced at $ 130.

Of course, if you can’t wait for ESPYs later today. Here’s a look at Wilson’s new shoe as featured by the man himself on his own Twitter account.

Okay, so it was a bit scattered. Does anyone actually have a decent image of the shoe?

Thank you.

As you can see, Wilson’s shoes essentially sport an all-black design with very few bells and whistles in keeping with the quarterback himself. The MVP candidate logo is featured on the beak and bottom of the shoe with the Nike logo on the side.

The Seahawks star is already taking a little heat for the resemblance of his shoes to the all-black Air Monarchs. Of course, Air Monarchs is the shoe brand of choice for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, and Carroll and Wilson even recently made a special Nike Father’s Day video featuring this shoe. But, in terms of star-branded shoes, comparing an Air Monarch is probably not what you’re looking to inspire.

Still the question of the hour is how Wilson will unveil his shoe at ESPYs. Will he be wearing the new shoes with his costume himself or is there a bigger marketing plan that will involve ESPYs and the crowd more deeply, like sending him on stage to unveil the sneakers in front of the world? . Whatever he and his team decide to do, it’s all going to take place at the ESPYs which kick off at 8 p.m. EDT.

And then the shoe will officially go on sale tomorrow for all 12 to pick up and enjoy. Provided you have the extra $ 130 to spend on the DangeRuss 1s, of course.
