In 2012, Nike released the “Liverpool” LeBron 9 Low, inspired by the English soccer club in which LeBron James had just acquired a stake. The release was not without controversy – markings linking the shoe to the club which were visible on the sample. were withdrawn before they were sold at retail. However, the colorway was eventually released and quickly became a collector’s item from James’ signature line. A return of the “Liverpool” 9 Low in 2020 didn’t go to plan, but the concept has been revitalized in a new arrangement this year.
The LeBron 9 Low “Reverse Liverpool” is slated for release this spring, which features green as the dominant color instead of red. Red and black share the accent work, but the real highlight is the reappearance of the official Liverpool logos, present on the heels and visible through the translucent section of the outsole.
Nike hasn’t officially announced the release date yet, but we’ll let you know in the coming weeks.
UPDATE (20/09): Nike has now confirmed that the “Reverse Liverpool” LeBron 9 Low will be released tomorrow September 21 via SNKRS for $185. Take an official look at the shoe below.
